About the role

We have a great opportunity for a senior IP lawyer to join our team to provide parental leave cover until September 2025. We are looking for around 15-18 hours per week and can be flexible with how these hours are worked across the week.

The role has breadth and depth with exposure to a range of advisory and contentious IP matters such as IP strategy, and brand and copyright advice and enforcement. In addition, we assist clients with consumer law, food code, product labelling, and commercialisation, so there will be a variety of interesting and challenging work.

While you will work alongside our highly regarded IP partners, you can also expect to be supported to have direct client contact. Our clients range from local entrepreneurs and emerging brands to established global brands, in industries such as telecommunications, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, fashion, entertainment and media. This role will leverage your specialist expertise while providing plenty of opportunity for growth.

About you

You will have around 7-10 years’ PQE, having honed your IP and legal skills through advice to clients on a range of IP matters. Your technical expertise will be complemented by a commitment to service delivery, excellent relationship management skills, and a mindset of continuous improvement that you apply to the work you deliver, and to your own and others’ development.

You’ll bring curiosity, energy and a passion for finding creative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems – recognising the importance of partnering with our clients to support their success. You will be comfortable questioning the “why” as well as thinking outside of the box in terms of the “how”.
