About the role

We have a great opportunity for a experienced IP lawyer to join our team.

The role is predominantly trade mark focused, but there will also be breadth and depth with exposure to a range of advisory and contentious IP matters such as IP strategy, brand and copyright advice and enforcement and perhaps even some light patent work. In addition, we assist clients with consumer law, food code, product labelling, counterfeit prevention and commercialisation so there will be a variety of interesting and challenging work.

While you will work alongside our highly regarded IP partners and senior team, you can also expect to be supported to have direct client contact. Our clients range from local entrepreneurs and emerging brands to established global brands, in industries such as telecommunications, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, fashion, entertainment and media. This role will leverage your specialist expertise while providing plenty of opportunity for growth.

About you

You will have around 6-8 years’ PQE, having honed your IP and legal skills through advice to clients on a range of IP matters, and be ready to take your next career step. Your growing technical expertise in trade mark prosecution and evidence / hearing preparation will be a key asset and, together with an interest in broader advisory and contentious work, will be complemented by a commitment to service delivery, excellent relationship management skills, and a mindset of continuous improvement that you apply to the work you deliver, and to your own and others’ development.

You’ll bring curiosity, energy and a passion for finding creative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems – recognising the importance of partnering with our clients to support their success through a consistent commitment to delivering quality client outcomes.
